ALBERTA CANCER FOUNDATION
The Alberta Cancer Foundation is the registered charity dedicated to supporting cancer research and programs at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, the Cross Cancer Institute and 15 other cancer centres across Alberta. We see every day how patients and families benefit from the work that more than 200,000 Alberta Cancer Foundation donors make possible each year. The Foundation provides funding for basic, translational and clinical research, advanced treatment programs, prevention and screening initiatives, equipment and facility enhancements, a patient financial assistance program and psychosocial initiatives at all Alberta cancer centres.

Patients and families across the province count on having access to the most effective programs and best-equipped facilities in Canada, if not the world. Alberta’s team of cancer nurses, radiation therapists, technicians, pharmacists, researchers and doctors are dedicated to giving them the best care available. Research integrated with cancer treatment gives us more information about cancer and provides direct benefits to our patients.
Research also helps us attract and keep the best trained people for cancer care and training of the next generation of specialists. And equipped with cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art tools, Alberta physicians and researchers are helping to revolutionize the delivery of cancer treatment.
THE TOM BAKER CANCER CENTRE & THE CROSS CANCER INSTITUTE
The Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary and the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton are leading centres of cancer treatment as well as scientific and clinical research to develop new cancer therapies. Albertans are able to access leading treatments 3-7 years in advance of those treatments becoming available on a large-scale basis.
